Open university S339 revision field trip.
Leader: Fiona McGibbon

Weather:  Dry and sunny.

This Open University field trip was organised as a revision for the S339 course, in advance of the associated residential course at Kindrogan,in Perthshire, in July 2012. It was a two day visit, but I joined the group only for the first day.

Geologists can use structures like those shown below to interpret the larger scale structures within orogenic belts.

Asymmetric folding in metamorphosed Dalradian sediments on the west coast south of Catacol.
Fault tip folding close to the same location.
